Description:
The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for the provision of The Supply and Install of a 4-Laser Full Spectrum Flow Cytometric Analyzer, as further described herein.

A compact benchtop 4-laser full spectrum flow cytometer will be installed at Western University. This instrument is intended to complement an existing 5-laser full spectrum cytometer within the London Regional Flow Cytometry Facility, Schulich‘s flow cytometry core research facility that is increasingly in high demand among facility users, while also adding crucial instrumentation to the research labs.
This cytometer will be used to observe protein and enzyme activity inside living cells and in real time. The approaches we employ reveal, with spatiotemporal resolution, activity and abundance of proteins, microRNAs and transfer RNAs in a physiologically relevant context. Potential applications will include: comprehensive cell phenotyping, quantification of low concentration biomarkers and reporter proteins, and the quantification of fluorescence intensity of antibody-labelled proteins and probe-bound RNAs in multiple cell types of various sizes from multiple species (including mouse, human, non-human primate, yeast and bacteria).

The estimated budget for this project is CAD $144,000 plus HST.
