    Procurement Method:
Open tender whereby all interested Suppliers may submit a Proposal.

    Description:
The RFP is an invitation to submit offers for the Supply and Install of Two Mass Spectrometry Systems and One Liquid Chromatography System for Spatial-omics Research.
Brain injury and disease is plagued by complexities associated with molecular, cellular, and tissue heterogeneity and the spatial interconnectivity of neuronal networks.  The future of therapeutic intervention will require identification of spatially resolved cell type- and tissue-specific targets within anatomical context for the development of next-generation disease-modifying therapies and to monitor therapeutic efficacy.
We are establishing a molecular imaging suite for advanced and high-throughput multi-modal and multi-omic evaluation of diverse cellular biomarkers by liquid chromatography (LC) and mass spectrometry (MS) at high spatial resolution and sensitivity. Using the requested infrastructure, we will combine mass spectrometry imaging (MSI), single cell spatial-omics, digital histopathology, and advanced computation to build a platform tasked with driving discovery of spatially identified targets.
Two mass spectrometry (MS) systems and one ultra performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) system are requested. One system will be for Discovery and Innovation applications, performing high resolution MS imaging and single cell spatial-omics (proteomics, lipidomics) by nanoLC-MS/MS as described. One system will be used for Translational and High-throughput applications, performing targeted and multiplexed MS imaging using mass tags or reporter ions for spatial biomarker and biomolecule analysis and rapid high-throughput analysis of clinical cohorts as described.
Computational hardware and software support for advanced MS image and spatial-omics data annotation and analysis is also requested. Workstations will be for data evaluation, molecular annotation, identification, visualization, advanced statistical comparisons/analyses, segmentation, co-registration, and construction of three-dimensional datasets as described.

All equipment will be housed in the Biomolecular Core Facility Biological Mass Spectrometry Laboratory at Western University Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Western’s preference is to have a single solution; however, it may be necessary to implement multiple products and therefore the proponent(s) response(s) do not need to cover all platforms as Western may select multiple solutions to cover all of its needs.
Refer to the RFP document for further information.
    Budget:
The available budget for all items requested good and services is CAD$4,500,000 plus taxes.
