    Description
The Town of Pictou has entered a significant year where it will be celebrating two monumental anniversaries - The 250th anniversary of the landing of the Ship Hector’s 250th and the Town of Pictou’s 150th anniversary of incorporation. Over 20 community organizations are partnering with the Town to host events and activities in celebration of these anniversaries. With two critical public gathering spaces - Market Wharf and the deCoste Centre - under development during this momentous year, The Town of Pictou will be transforming the former laundromat waterfront property into a Pictou 2023 event site to meet event and placemaking needs from June 17th to September 17th. The event site will play host to a summer-long schedule of musical performances, festivals, heritage events, markets, and more. Along with a vendor kiosk area with seating, the site will contain a beer garden, play areas, art installations, water access, and various seating options along the water's edge.
