The Ultra-Large Cyclic Triaxial Apparatus will be the world’s first cyclic 1 m diameter ‘triaxial’ testing system simulating the vertical and horizontal stresses that develop in the ground, and permitting seminal (the first and/or most credible) experiments on soils with large particles such as mine wastes that include large particles to mitigate collapse;
