Ontario Lead, Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Scanning

Ontario Health is seeking expressions of interest from Ontario physicians with significant expertise in positron emission tomography (PET) scanning for the position of Ontario Lead, PET Scanning (previously titled, “Chair, PET Steering Committee”).
The Ontario Lead, PET Scanning provides strategic and clinical leadership to support Ontario Health (Cancer Care Ontario)’s mandate with respect to PET scanning, and serves as the Chair of the Ontario PET Steering Committee. With the input of the PET Steering Committee, the Ontario Lead, PET Scanning plays an active role in advising Ontario Health on quality issues related to PET scanning, including: wait times and emerging pressures; horizon scanning and system-level recommendations on the use of emerging evidence-based PET scanning indications and technologies; opportunities for quality improvement and support for quality initiative development and implementation; strategies to improve provincial PET scan services.
The Ontario Lead, PET Scanning is also co-chair of the PET Capital Advisory Committee, in support of Ontario Health’s role in long term capital planning with respect to PET.
