General Contractor Prequalification for Hyde Park Pumping Station UpgradeHyde Park Sanitary Pumping Station is being upgraded to increase the rated capacity from 98 L/s up to 327 L/s. This project will enable the station to accommodate increased flows associated with future development as well as from wet weather events, which are increasing in frequency and intensity.A contractor prequal is strongly recommended due to the complex construction sequencing and bypass pumping that is required to maintain pumping station operation during construction. An RFT without a pre-qual process would expose the City to significant risk that could result in project delays or environmental spills. Proposed housing developments in the Hyde Park area are depending on the successful delivery of this project; it is important that this project is awarded to a qualified General Contractor.
