    Description of the requirement:
    
    Statistics Canada requires the services of an Application/Software Architect and a Programmer/Software Developer to implement a new search engine (SOLR). The purpose of this requirement is to:
    - Replace the UltraSeek search engine with SOLR.
    - Crawl and index Statistics Canada data holding.
    - Configure and setup supporting infrastructure.
    - Size the environment for performance and scalability and implement optimization.
    - Develop a search interface based on the business requirement and have it adhere to the Government of Canada (GOC) web standard.
    - Enhance the discoverability of survey metadata for the Data Liberation Initiative.
    
    The proposed period of contract shall be from Contract Award to March 31, 2015 plus one (1) six month option period.
    Request for Proposal (RFP) documents will be e-mailed or faxed directly, from the contracting officer, to the Qualified Supply Arrangement Holders who are being invited to bid on this requirement.
