TIME AND CLOSING LOCATION REMAIN UNCHANGED*** _____________________________________________________________________________ Defence Construction Canada – Request for Abbreviated Proposals for Design and Construction Services: IE0652MD, Design and Construction Services (Modified Design Build) for Health Care Services Facility, Cold Lake, Alberta The scope of this Design-Build contract includes the design and construction of a new integrated health care facility of approximately 4,952 m2 (gross area) to replace the current health care facilities at Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake, Alberta. It will provide a modern facility with medical, dental, physiotherapy and mental health services under one roof. The proposed health care facility will be located on DND land. It is anticipated that this will be a two story building, categorized as a Group D building under the current National Building Code of Canada. The facility will be comprised of new construction only, with no renovations of existing buildings. This Design-Build contract scope also includes site development including access roads, parking and landscaping. The required services include, but may not be limited to, the following: • Statement of Construction Requirements • Concept Design • Design Development • Construction Documents • Construction • LEED® Certification • Moving Services • Site Remediation (integration of remediation into design, if required) • Post Construction Phase Services The award of this contract is subject to final approval of funding. Information provided by the Design-Builder will be evaluated using the established criteria in the Request for Abbreviated Proposals. The criteria relate to previous achievements and experience, as well as technical and managerial expertise. The objective of this Request for Abbreviated Proposals is to select the proponent with the highest total score. This opportunity follows procurement procedures in accordance with Chapter 10 of NAFTA. The Security Requirements for this project are identified in the Request for Abbreviated Proposal Documents. The construction cost estimate of this project is in the order of magnitude of $25,400,000. Firms that consider themselves qualified to provide these services are invited to submit their Abbreviated Proposals on the forms that are available from MERX by calling 1-800-964-6379.
