Musical Instrument Cleaning

ABSTRACT
MUSICAL INSTRUMENT CLEANING
Canada has a requirement for the cleaning and repair of musical instruments, for the Department of National Defence Band of the Ceremonial Guard.

MANDATORY CRITERIA
The Bidder must comply with all requirements of the Request for Proposal (RFP) and meet all mandatory technical evaluation criteria:

M1
Bidder must clearly demonstrate the capability to provide ultrasonic cleaning for musical instruments.

Specifically, the bidder should confirm that they have an ultrasonic cleaning bath and that they have performed this type of cleaning services within the past six (6) months.

M2
Bidder must clearly demonstrate that they have five (5) years of combined experience of both:
• cleaning and
• repairing
musical instruments.

M3
Bidder must clearly demonstrate that they are capable of providing a 24 hour turnaround for the repair of musical instruments.
Specifically, the bidder should show that they have:
 a plan to meet this target,
 an inventory of instrument parts readily available on site or available within 8 hours’ notice;
 the resources available who are capable of performing these services within this time period; and
 that they have performed this type of services within this time period in the past six (6) months.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The basis of selection will be the responsive bid with the lowest evaluated price.

DND reserves the right not to award a contract, regardless of the proposals received.

Services similar to those being solicited in the RFP have recently been provided by Long and McQuade and Musicare Inc. The duration of the contracts were for one month and their values were $7,981.19 and $9,068.25 respectively.

Where this notice and the RFP differ, the RFP will prevail.
