Description
Work covers selective shoreline rehabilitation.  It includes shoreline work, erosion control methods and removal of invasive plant material and grading.

The General Contractor shall have expertise for the following works and shall supply, install, commission the rehabilitation works as outlined in the tender documents:

This project consists of the following:

•	Installation and maintenance of a turbidity curtain in the water for the length of the construction zone.
•	Removal of invasive species as specified by the NCC.
•	Excavation and removal of existing geotextile and grass.
•	Grading and excavation
•	Supplying and placing of rip rap for slope stabilization as specified. 
•	Re structuring weak connection points between two existing armor stone walls and the rip rap zone as specified in contract documents.
•	Relocation of large boulders.
•	Placement of planting soil and coir mat.

Construction Timeline:  The Contractor shall perform the Work commencing on October 13, 2015 and be completed by end of December 2015 with the planting phase to be completed in Spring 2016.

TENDER CLOSING DATE AND TIME:	September 22, 2015 at 3:00 p.m., Ottawa time

A NON MANDATORY site visit will be held on Tuesday September 15, 2015 at 10am Ottawa time on site at the bottom of the Rideau Canal Locks on the west side. All costs incurred by the Bidder to attend the site visit will be at their expense. The NCC will not reimburse any Bidder for expenses related to the site visit.
