Description of Work: Construction contract to rehabilitate the concrete stop log weir located at Old Slys Lock station on the Rideau Canal in Smiths Falls, Ontario.
The work in general consists of replacement of the existing cast-in-place concrete deck with a new pre-cast concrete deck, other miscellaneous concrete repairs, various public safety upgrades such as new guardrails, fencing and signage, replacement of the existing manual log lifter with a hydraulic winch log lifter and hoisting and transportation of timber stop logs among other items.
Contractor area of specialization is concrete construction (dams) as well as key sub-trades specializing in hydraulic mechanical winch systems and miscellaneous metals. In-water work is not required as part of this contract. The contract may require cold weather concrete work.

Optional Site Visit:
THERE WILL BE AN OPTIONAL SITE VISIT ON: October 13th, 2015 @ 1:00 PM.
It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held at the Old Slys Weir located at 9 Old Slys Road, Smiths Falls, ON, K7A 3M3
Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance sheet. Bidders who do not attend or do not send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.
Bidders that consider themselves qualified to provide this Work and intend to submit bids on this project should obtain documents from the Government Electronic Tendering Service through the Government of Canada tendering service at www.buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders . Addenda, when issued, will be available from the Government of Canada tendering service. Bidders that elect to base their bids on documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk. Late submissions will not be considered.
Standard Terms and Conditions for this procurement are incorporated by reference into, and form part of the Tender and Contract Documents.
Delivery Date: The Work must be completed on or before May 6, 2016.
