Nature of Work

Fisheries & Oceans Canada (DFO) owns a parcel of property within Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Shearwater currently used both for a Canadian Coast Guard helicopter hangar, and a storage area within the Department of National Defence (DND) airfield perimeter (outdoor storage, as well as a repurposed hangar, and fenced storage compound).

There are two components of this project:

  1. Construction of 500M of “Class B” fence inside the DND airfield along with boundary of the DFO owned property.
  2. Site servicing, grading, and gravel surface preparation at three (3) locations on the property to provide additional gravel surface outdoor storage space. The total new gravel surface is approximately 0.95 ha (9500M2)

Location of Work, Work site and Delivery Point: Work will be carried out at 101 Magnificent Avenue, Shearwater, Nova Scotia in the location as shown on the accompanying drawings.

A Mandatory Site Visit will be held on October 15, 2015.

Contractors wishing to visit the site must contact the Contracting Authority to obtain further information (Time/schedule)

Please Note:

  • A maximum of 1 person per Contractor will be permitted
  • 2 days advanced noticed is to be given to the Contracting Officer will respect to the company and individuals attending the visit

It is a requirement for all persons wishing to tender on this project to attend this meeting at the site to familiarize themselves fully with the scope of work and the tendering requirements. The Bidder’s Representative must sign an attendance list and attend the entire site visit, to have their bid submission considered responsive.

Completion Date: All work to be completed by March 31st, 2016
