Modernization of New Brunswick Road Network (NBRN) and National Road Network (NRN)

This proposed pilot project will leverage synergies between the New Brunswick Road Network (NBRN),National Road Network (NRN) and the GeoFoundation Exchange (GFX) initiatives and will demonstrate progress and solidify support amongst NBRN, NRN and GFX stakeholders. More specifically, this project will:

• Assess recommended modifications to the GFX and quantify the levels of effort required to implement such modifications. Make any additional modification recommendations as may be required to address the needs of the broader community.

• Design, develop and demonstrate workflows that leverage the GFX for:
  • Acquiring NBRN data from selected sources;
  • Integrating the NBRN data into the new harmonized NBNR/NRN/GFX data model;
  • Providing access to NBRN data to key stakeholders.
• GFX knowledge transfer to provincial/federal technical staff
• Demonstrate the NBRN/NRN/GFX results to key NBRN stakeholders.

Expectation is to have a pilot system that could be deployed in an operational environment
