Third-party governance review of the Canadian Commision on Building and Fire Codes (CCBFC)
- review the effectiveness, integrity and independence of the current governance model
- investigate best practices for effective and responsive codes development within other organizations
- determine how the current governance and process can be improved/adapted or a new process created to meet the often aggressive timelines of F/P/T authorities for building safety while upholding the current principles of openness, balance, transparency and evidence-based decision making, and
- create a new framework and process for developing infrastructure codes within a different regulatory environment and with different stakeholders.
