    Description

    SCOPE OF WORK

    .1 The contractor must take extreme care working within this site to minimize damage and disruption. The NCC Representative is to be consulted prior to any site disturbance to ensure that government functions are not negatively impacted. The Contractor will be limited to the footprint of the work area, and to the staging areas as defined in the contract documents.

    .2 Works under this contract cover the supply of all materials, labour, equipment and services required to perform the works described in the tender package for the present contract. This

    includes but is not limited to:

    .1 Protection Measures for the adjacent areas including heritage elements and trees;

    .2 Temporary Facilities, hoarding fencing, and traffic control temporary access to building as required to complete the work;

    .3 Selective demolition, removal and disposal / salvage of existing materials and surfaces;

    .4 Grading and compaction

    .5 Granite paving and curbing installed mechanically.

    .6 Asphalt removal and disposal

    .7 Removals and partial salvage of existing granular materials.

    .8 Site reinstatements

    3. Site Supervisor: Provide competent site supervisor (minimum 10 years of experience), capable of managing the site operations of this Contract on a full-time basis during the duration of the implementation of the work of this Contract at the site.

    .4 Site Safety Officer: Appoint a Site SafetyOfficer responsible for health and site safety for activities and duration of the implementation of the work of this Contract.

    Non Mandatory Site Visit: A NON MANDATORY site visit for Bidders will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 11am to noon EDT. All costs incurred by the Bidder to attend the site visit will be at their expense. The NCC will not reimburse any Bidder for expenses related to the site visit. To confirm your attendance at the site visit and to gain access to the grounds, please communicate with NCC Corporate Security at 613-239-5222 or securityscreening@ncc-ccn.ca at least 24 hours prior to the site visit. Please note that all visits to sensitive sites shall be coordinated with, and approved by NCC Corporate Security.

    CONSTRUCTION TIME: The Contractor shall perform and complete the Work:

     .1 Phase one (South Pathway) of this contract must commence October 9, 2017, and have achieved substantial completion by October 31, 2017.

    .2 Phase two (North Drive) of this contract will start in the spring of 2018. Exact date to be determined.

    ENQUIRIES DURING THE SOLICITATION PERIOD: Enquiries regarding this tender must be submitted in writing to the following: Sr. Contract Officer, Allan Lapensée e-mail address – allan.lapensee@ncc-ccn.ca as early as possible within the solicitation period. Except for the approval of alternative materials as described in GI15 of the General Instructions to Bidders, enquiries should be received no later than five (5) calendar days prior to the date set for solicitation closing to allow sufficient time to provide a response. Enquiries received after that time may result in an answer not being provided
