Description of Work:
HOT2000 performs residential energy simulation and is used to calculate the ERS rating number. Work on HOT2000 revolves around two major areas:
- As the ERS is undergoing changes, HOT2000 needs to be updated to continue to be aligned with ERS requirements, including:
- Additional building type (Multi Unit Residential Buildings) for program submission and compliance;
- Assessing the compliance of the latest version of the National Building Code energy requirements;
- Incorporating new technologies and system designs.
- Upgrading HOT2000 to migrate form a legacy software to a modern language software that is re-architected and fully documented.
Tasks include:
- Become familiar with OEE Housing Division Program requirements and infrastructure, key components (Program compliance, Program Input and Reporting, web portal interface) and the Housing Division Oracle database.
- Translate requirements into high level designs and specifications
- Adhere to the select design architecture
- Perform unit and regression testing
- Analyse and recommend alternatives and options
- Confer with infrastructure team clients and other development team members
- Modify the design of the system as necessary to correct deficiencies and errors.
- Translation of Fortran source code for engine calculator into Visual Studio C++ using Fable tool (verification to insure same behavior is preserved for equivalent inputs at subroutine or method level)

Contract Duration: The initial contract period will be from contract award to May 31, 2019 with an option to extend for up to two (2) additional one (1) year periods.

Any pre-qualified supplier under the category(ies) mentioned above who have not been named in the Invited Bidder’s list identified in the RFP can request, via an email to the NRCan Contracting Authority, to be included in the bid solicitation. NRCan will make every effort to include additional suppliers, but reserves the right to decline bidders should it be sooner than five (5) days prior to the bid closing.
