    Description

Statistics Canada has a requirement for expert professional services to provide support in the use of Modgen and OpenM++, and to design and develop particular dynamic microsimulation model prototypes that are compatible with both of these languages. Statistics Canada has a long history of developing dynamic microsimulation models using Modgen. In partnership with other organizations, Statistics Canada is launching a new dynamic microsimulation model focused on the retirement income system. Following an extensive options analysis and consultation with these partners and other stakeholders, it was decided that the new model will be developed in OpenM++ in order to facilitate efficiency and collaboration between the model development partners. Accordingly, the 4-year project work plan and human resource strategy have been based on this modelling technology decision. Furthermore, Statistics Canada has decided to migrate its broader dynamic microsimulation model development activities to OpenM++, which is a more modern, flexible, multi-platform model development language.
