    Description

    The National Research Council of Canada (NRCC) owns and operates an European Gas Turbine Typhoon-Intro Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) at a nominal output of 4.0 MWe located in Ottawa, Ontario. The GTG was installed as an “intro” model in 1993.

    The NRCC has a mandate to lower carbon emissions and has recently moved to an intermittent operation of the GTG in order to manage campus demand and lower Global Adjustment costs. The new GTG operation schedule is expected to remain under 500 hours per year and is expected to require no more than 50 starts and stops annually.
