Title: Replacement of fixed aids to navigation, Municipality of Verchères, Québec
1.Background
- The current structure at the Municipality of Verchères back light site (NLF 2320) is part of an alignment of Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) aids to navigation that dates to the 1970s and that is showing signs of aging and safety problems during ascents. The decision has been made to completely replace this structure.
2.Description of the work
- This mandate involves the design and construction of one (1) concrete foundation on screwed piles and the assembly and installation of one (1) new steel structure and its accessories. The Contractor must also dismantle the old steel structure and the shelter on top and demolish the old foundations. Everything must also be disposed of in an appropriate manner. The current structure located at the municipality of Verchères, is to be dismantled is fifty-five feet (55’) high and the new structure to be installed is eighty feet (80’) high.
