      Description of Work:

The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) and Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) utilizes IBM Maximo as the approved Asset Management Systems (AMS) to capture data related to the maintenance of CCG assets and to track inventory held by the CCG at various locations across Canada and on board CCG vessels. Shore based personnel utilize IBM’s Maximo for AMS activities. Maximo is currently integrated with DFO’s financial system, Oracle Financials 12, to capture inventory valuation of consumable goods in CCG storerooms and warehouses.

Maximo supports over 500 users across the country and the AMS technical team is responsible for the day to day support of all Maximo systems including the vessels. As well as supporting ongoing development activities, there are several initiatives currently underway involving Maximo. The first is the AMS Large Vessel Project which is tasked with implementing Maximo on all CCG vessels. Included in this Project is the implementation of two way data synchronization between the Central server on shore and the individual vessel server installations. The second major initiative will see SAP/Hanna replace Oracle Financials 12 as the Departments financial system. This will require an integration to be re-built between Maximo and SAP/Hanna. A third initiative is to implement a mobile solution for Maximo for both shore and vessel based users.

The purpose of this contract is to put in place a single support contract through the TBIPS Supply Arrangement in order to obtain the specific professional services required to assist the Integrated Technical Services Directorate (ITS) of DFO/CCG in supporting Maximo and its users.
