CCMC Plant Inspection Services
The Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) operates a product assessment service to the Canadian construction industry facilitating a path to market for innovative and standardized construction products. As of 2021, part of the CCMC assessment process includes the requirement for periodic (usually annual) plant inspections to be contracted by the CCMC with competent (i.e., ISO/IEC 17065 accredited) third-party inspection bodies.
In 2021 the CCMC completed the first year of plant inspections. This RFSO is a follow on to that service, with an expected start in April 2022 and the completion of some 450+ plant inspections by March 31, 2023. Bidders will be contracted for the period between April 2022 and March 2023, with an option for CCMC to extend the standing offers for up to an additional 4 years (for a potential total of 5 years).
The following RFSO details the mandatory requirements which will be used to select competent contractors from industry bidders. Bidders that meet mandatory requirements will be eligible to be contracted. The degree to which work is assigned to them is based on CCMC client preference, or in the absence of client preference, the competitiveness of their bid on a lowest-cost basis (subject to accreditation in relevant technical domains, and the specific location of the plant).
