Request for Proposals: Agricultural Leasing Opportunity for 7797 16th Avenue, Markham, Ontario, Canada in Rouge National Urban Park

The only acceptable email address for responses to the proposal solicitation is Caiti.McLelland@pc.gc.ca. Proposals submitted by email directly to the Contracting Authority or to any email address other than Caiti.McLelland@pc.gc.ca will not be accepted.

The maximum email file size that Parks Canada is capable of receiving is 15 megabytes. The Proponent is responsible for any failure attributable to the transmission or receipt of the emailed proposal due to file size.

The Proponent should be cognisant of the size of the email as a whole, and not only the attachments. Please take into consideration that some attachments, when sent, may be resized during the email transfer. If the email size is too large, the Proponent should send the proposal in multiple emails properly labeled with the solicitation number, project name, and indicate how many emails are included (ex. 1 of 2).

Emails with links to proposal documents will not be accepted. Proposal documents must be sent as email attachments.

REQUIREMENT

Parks Canada is accepting Proposals from interested individuals, groups and/or organizations who wish to join and contribute to a vibrant farming community in Rouge National Urban Park – while also contributing to the park’s natural and cultural heritage and recreation goals – by actively farming and living on the identified property in the Markham area of the park.

This Request for Proposals (RFP) is an invitation to potential proponents that are interested in leasing this Property consisting of 7.4 acres (3 hectares) of workable farmland, associated farm outbuildings, and farmhouse, to submit Proposals to Parks Canada that provide a clear and concise description of the Proponent’s ability to satisfy the Mandatory Requirements and Rated Requirements outlined in Sections 3.1 and 3.2 of this RFP.

MANDATORY SITE VISIT

A site visit for this RFP is MANDATORY. Proponents must participate in a site visit prior to June 3, 2022 at 4 pm Eastern Daylight Time. Interested Proponents are to book their site meeting with the Project Authority listed below, and then meet in the driveway at 7797 16^th Avenue, Markham, Ontario, Canada on the day of the scheduled meeting.

Proponents who do not confirm attendance, provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend, or who do not complete and submit the above certification as required will not be allowed access to the site. Proponents will be required to sign an attendance sheet. Proponents should confirm in their proposal that they have attended the site visit. Proponents who do not attend the mandatory site visit or do not send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment and their proposal will be declared non-responsive. Any clarifications or changes to the proposal solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the proposal solicitation.
