The Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD) is planning to carry out a requirement for underpinning works for a residential townhome for the High Commission of Canada to the United Kingdom.

A Stage 1 Request for Qualification (RQ) was published on CanadaBuys (RQ 23-227191) on November 29, 2022. The respondents who qualified will now be receiving the Stage 2 Request for Proposal (henceforth referenced as RFP Stage 2).

DFATD is seeking to engage the services of a supplier for construction services for the planned work at a residential building in London, United Kingdom.

The underpinning work will involve stripping out of parts of the ground floor living room, dining room and kitchen and re-installing and re-decorating the space as per the statement of work (SOW). The underpinning work to the ground floor foundations will be as per the drawings/designs.

The pre-qualified supplier(s) will follow the drawings and scope of work that will be outlined in the RFP Stage 2 to qualified respondents.

This presents a unique opportunity for appropriately qualified and experienced suppliers to demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experience relevant to renovations. The contractor that will be awarded a contract (in RFP Stage 2) will be required to ensure excellent quality in several fields, such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, as well as high quality construction.

Suppliers must be capable of providing the full range of services required in English or French, and have the ability to travel to, and perform commissioning guidance in London, United Kingdom.
