The Canadian Grain Commissions (CGC) Grain Research Laboratory has a requirement for the supply, delivery, installation and training of one (1) Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) system, including all relevant software and computer to operate the system.

    OBJECTIVE:

CGC requires a PCR system that is able to perform PCR and quantitative PCR assays to quantify and detect the presence/absence of target sequences in DNA samples. The system through the use of PCR and fluorescent DNA dyes must quantify and detect microbial species/races and toxin genes in DNA. The instrument must be able to perform thermocycling and fluorescence measurements for quantitative PCR for SYBR Green (DNA dye) and TaqMan assays. The instrument must run assays on at least 24 targets and 200 samples simultaneously, with reaction volumes that are 120 nanoliter (nL) or less. The instrument must allow for same day (within 3 hours) targets / assays to be changed by the user.

ORGANIZATIONAL ENVIRONMENT: Completion of installation and training may be delayed depending on access to the building and travel restrictions due to COVID.

Installation, configuration and training of the system must be performed by the contractor at a date which will be confirmed by the Project Authority.

The contractor is responsible for adhering to all COVID-19 protocols applicable at CGC.

OPTIONAL GOODS: Option to purchase up to one (1) additional unit within 24 months from contract award, option to purchase two, one (1) year service agreements, and option to purchase an estimated 120 PCR reaction chips per year for up to two years.
