Description
Trade Agreement: NAFTA/AIT/Canada FTAs with Peru/Colombia/Panama Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: Chromatograph/Spectrometer K3D57-170520/A Porter, Marta M. Telephone No. - (613) 483-6084 ( ) Fax No. - (613) 545-8067 ( ) Requirement: The Government of Canada, Environment and Climate Change Canada, requires an analytical system to measure trace and ultra-trace levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in ambient air, both from in-situ ground sampling and pressurized samples from electropolished stainless steel sampling canisters. This analytical system will be fabricated in-house but requires a GC-MS instrument as its core component. Acquisition of this core GC-MS instrument is the goal of this process. The Gas Chromatograph (GC) and Mass Spectrometer (MS) parts of the instrument must be fully compatible and integrated with one another and controlled by a single data system computer. The GC must have, or be able to accommodate, a number of options (detectors, gas flow switching, etc.) in order to allow the maximum amount of flexibility to apply an array of chromatographic approaches to separating highly complex mixtures of hydrocarbons. The MS must be able to operate with high carrier gas flow rates and also offer excellent sensitivity. It must be of a type that maintains comparability with mass spectra from previous instruments used in the laboratory. The final instrument system will be deployed to field sites in a variety of locations. It must be physically robust enough to withstand shipment by various means (air, road, off-road) and extremely reliable in operation. Electrical power is frequently a limiting factor in field laboratories and so power consumption must not be excessive. Delivery Date: Above-mentioned The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement. Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
