    The Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) has a requirement
    for one (1) 8.5 to 9.0 meters glass reinforced plastic (GRP) jet
    propelled patrol boat with cabin and trailer built in accordance
    with the Technical Statement of Requirement (TSOR), Annex "A',
    attached to the Request for Proposals (RFP) with the option to
    purchase an additional patrol boat with cabin and trailer built
    in accordance with the TSOR, Annex 'A'. 
    
    The primary mission for the patrol boat is to allow fishery
    officers to recover and haul (bring to port), untagged or
    illegal lobster traps and other fishing gear. The boat is for
    Fisheries Conservation and Protection (C&P) for the Maritimes
    Region, Sidney Detachment.
    
    The secondary mission for the patrol boat must be other
    fisheries enforcement duties such as boardings, surveillance and
    to assist CCG, RCMP, DNR, CFIA, EC, DFO science and to assist
    SAR duties that are within the reasonable capabilities of this
    type and size of patrol boat.
    
    The patrol boat must be fast to allow rapid deployment from home
    port to the work area and seaworthy to allow prudent, safe
    operation and sea-kindliness to minimize crew fatigue. Area of
    operation is the Maritime Region up to 48 kilometers from shore
    in sea state 6. The boat must be designed to ISO design category
    C.
    
    The patrol boat must also be stable to allow safe hauling of
    gear and carrying seized gear, robust to withstand normal
    in-service wear and tear and easily maintained. Also with good
    access to main and auxiliary machinery without the requirement
    to remove equipment, piping, etc. to carry out routine
    maintenance, replacement and inspection.
    
    Quantity: one (1) patrol boat and one (1) trailer
    Option: for (1) additional patrol boat and (1) additional trailer

    This procurement is subject to the Agreement on Internal Trade,
    the North American Free Trade Agreement, the Canada - Chile Free
    Trade Agreement, the Canada - Peru Free Trade Agreement and the
    Canada - Panama Free Trade Agreement and the World Trade
    Organization Agreement on Government Contract Procurement.
