PWGSC, on behalf of its client departments, must issue an
increasing number of contracts to contractors who have valid
employee or company security clearances, at various levels up to
Secret. More and more, companies and their potential employees
must have the security clearance levels upon submission of bids
or proposals. The security requirements of the Canadian
Meteorological Centre, located in Dorval, Que, fall in this
category.

All companies or suppliers interested in bidding on this
upcoming project but do not meet the potential requirements in
terms of security clearance may ask the Acquisition and
compensation Services Quebec Region to sponsor them in obtaining
Secret security clearance.

Acquisition and Compensation Services Quebec Region will forward
the sponsorship requests to the PWGSC Industrial Security
Division in Ottawa.

The companies will receive information and questions directly
from the Industrial Security Office and will be responsible for
providing appropriate and timely information in order to get the
process underway as quickly as possible. Companies are solely
responsible for following up on their requests.  Acquisition and
Compensation Services Quebec Region's sole involvement is to
initiate sponsorship and will not intervene in any subsequent
steps in the security clearance process.  Note that the process
for obtaining secret security clearance can take up to 12 months
if all forms and information have been completed correctly.

invitation to tender, and no contract will result from this
publication.
