Interested bidders are to meet at the chalet of parc Pierre-Blanchet, located at 12275 avenue Pierre-Blanchet, arrondissement Pointe-des-Prairies, Montreal. Equipment for individual protection (boots, hard hat and safety vest) are required for the second part of the visit which will take place on the actual work site. PROJECT ADDRESS: Île Lapierre, Montréal (Lapierre Island is found in the Rivière des Prairies, north of the Montreal Island and east of the Highway 25 Bridgeand is part of Ruisseau-De-Montigny Nature Park). DESCRIPTION: The construction of the new Champlain Bridge Corridor project (NCBC) will generate losses of fish habitats and wetlands. To comply with the Federal Policy on Wetland Conservation and the Fisheries Act, the environmental assessment of the NCBC project has required that these losses be compensated. As such, the Lapierre Island site, among others, was retained. This site is located in Montreal in the Rivière-des-Prairies-Pointe-aux-Trembles borough. Lapierre Island is found in the Rivière des Prairies, north of the Montreal Island and east of the Highway 25 Brid ge and is part of Ruisseau-De-Montigny Nature Park. At the time, eastern part of Lapierre Island was occupied by a marsh. The latter was filled between 1980 and 1983 with fill material. The current call for tenders is the firstphase (lot 1) of the compensation proj ect. The overall project involves restoring the damaged natural environment by creating a new permanent 1.5 hectares marsh which will be connected to the Rivière des Prairies. This wetland will be used bya diversified fauna and will be configured for spawning, rearing and feeding activities for calm water fish. The works of Lot 2 mainly include excavation and management of wet excavation, dry excavation and profiling of wildlife landscape, water management, management of contaminated soil or not off-site, installation of submerged and floating plants, achieving of plant engineering structures, planting and seeding and environmental measures for the wo rk on the stream along the coast and in theoutskirts of the marsh. CALENDAR: The Construction period is estimated at a maximum of 11 months.
