NOTICE - INDUSTRIAL SECURITY SPONSORSHIP opportunity for future requirements (architectural and engineering services)

IMPORTANT NOTES TO THIS NOTICE:
1) The purpose of this notice is to provide industrial security sponsorship to companies seeking a DESIGNATED ORGANIZATION SCREENING (DOS) to enable them to bid on future solicitations that contain security requirements.
2) This notice is not a solicitation nor a request for qualification.
3) This notice is intended for Architectural & engineering consultants firms. 

CLOSING DATE:
Request for sponsorship for security clearance will be accepted throughout the posting period of this notice. They must be submitted by email to the contracting authority identified in the notice.
  
BACKGROUND:
Canada, through www.buyandsell.gc.ca and SELECT (an automated supplier rotation system), regularly issue invitations to tender and requests for proposals for a variety of architectural and engineering services. The execution of this work is sometimes conditional on the holding of DOS allowing the contractors, their subcontractors and suppliers to access protected buildings or information.

Given the limited number of companies holding a DOS and the time required in obtaining such clearance, the purpose of this notice is to allow companies to request their DOS in anticipation of future bidding opportunities.

REQUEST FOR SPONSORSHIP:
Companies whose organization does not have a DOS issued by PWGSC can initiate the security screening process immediately by requesting sponsorship.

The application sent to the contracting authority should include the following information:

- Organization legal name:
- Organization business name, if different from legal name:
- Mailing address:
- Civil address, if different from mailing address:
- Organization telephone number:
- Organization fax number:
- Surname and given name of contact person (Canadian official):
- Title of contact person:
- Contact person telephone number:
- Contact person email address:
- Preferred language of correspondence (French or English):

Upon receipt of the sponsorship application, the Contracting Authority will forward it to the Canadian Industrial Security Directorate (CISD), which will contact the sponsored organization to continue collecting the information required to obtain the DOS.

The sponsored organization will receive information and questions directly from the Industrial Security Office and will be responsible for providing appropriate and timely information in order to promptly initiate the process. Companies are solely responsible for ensuring that their applications are followed up. The contracting authority is only involved in the initiation of sponsorship and does not intervene in the subsequent stages of the process of obtaining the security clearance.

Companies that already hold security clearances assigned by PWGSC can update their records. To do so, their own corporate security officer must contact the CISD directly at 1-866-368-4646 or http://ssi-iss.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/. The company security officer may also request that the company be habilitated to store protected documents.

Security certificates issued by organizations other than CISD are not recognized in PWGSC contracts. Consequently, a sponsorship application must be made to meet the security requirements applicable to PWGSC contracts.
