    2. Definition of the requirement

    The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has a requirement for the purchase of a Raman spectrometer system for use in a laboratory environment by document examiners and chemists in casework examination, for the analysis of paper, plastic and ink. The system must integrate into CBSA’s existing infrastructure, and enhance CBSA’s capabilities in document examination.

    The requirement includes the following components, as well as a 12 month warranty:

    - colour USB video camera.

    b) The trinocular viewer must support simultaneous binocular viewing and collection of video camera images;

    c) The laser must be completely blocked from viewing optics to guarantee laser safely;

    d) The system must include fully automated, closed-loop high precision high velocity positioning stage, with very high precision X, Y and Z movement (1nm precision displacement);

    e) The system must be equipped at time of purchase to accommodate up to 4 different lasers; and
