Nature of Requirements: 

Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has a requirement for Ethernet radios for data communications with seismic monitoring stations. NRCan is requesting a Freewave Technologies Zumlink Z9-PE2 or equivalent.  

The units must be compatible with NRCan’s existing Freewave Technologies Zumlink Z9-PE2 Units. NRCan owns and operates (x50) Z9-PE2 devices. 

The devices are used to monitor potential natural hazards to helps Canadians prepare to respond to disasters, and shares information about the risks of natural processes or phenomena that may be a damaging event with Canadians. Through the Canadian Hazards Information Service (CHIS) NRCan provides hazard information and response to emergency situations involving earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, landslides, geomagnetic storms and radiological / nuclear incidents.
