    The work under this contract consists of the replacement of
    approximately 80 heat pumps that are nearing end of life.  This
    includes relocation of forty (40) sets of existing isolation and
    balancing valves closer to heat pumps including piping
    modifications.  Install controls on heat pumps to integrate with
    existing controls architecture.  Most of the work will be
    required to be completed after regular business hours.  The
    location of the work is Postal Station A at 126 Prince William
    Street, Saint John, New Brunswick.  All work is to be performed
    in accordance with the Plans and Specifications No. R.053638.001
    forming part of the bid document.
    
    There will be an optional site visit on October 22, 2012 at
    13:30 hours.  All interested bidders are to meet at the main
    lobby, Postal Station A, 126 Prince William Street, Saint John,
    New Brunswick.  Although not mandatory, all contractors  wishing
    to submit a tender for this work are encouraged to attend to
    become familiar with all aspects of the work.  Please keep in
    mind that there will be no other opportunities to visit the site.
    
    IMPORTANT NOTICE:  New measures related to Code of Conduct and
    certifications included in the solicitation documents requires
    attention
    
    A public bid opening will be held at the Bid Receiving Unit,
    Room 421, 189 Prince William Street, Saint John, N.B.
    
    Work to be completed within sixteen (16) weeks after contract
    award.
    
    The estimated cost for this opportunity is within the following
    category: $1,000,001 - $1,500,000 (HST extra).

      Inquiries are to be made in writing and should be received no
    less than five (5) calendar days prior to the closing date to
    allow sufficient time to respond.
    
    Standard bid and contract security for construction is required.
    
    Pursuant to GC6 - Delays and Changes in Work of the General
    Conditions, the resulting construction contract will include the
    provisions for changes in the work at the request of the
    Departmental Representative.  
    
    Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain

    when issued, will be available from the MERX provider.  Firms
    that elect to base their bids on tender documents obtained from
    other sources do so at their own risk and will be solely
    responsible to inform the tender calling authority of their
    intention to bid.
