    IMPORTANT NOTICE TO SUPPLIERS
    
    Government of Canada is moving its Government Electronic
    Tendering Service from MERX to Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders on June
    1, 2013
    
    Starting June 1, 2013, federal government tenders (tender
    notices and bid solicitation documents) will be published and
    available free of charge on a Government of Canada Web site on
    Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders.
    
    The Government Electronic Tendering Service on
    Buyandsell.gc.ca/tenders will be the sole authoritative source
    for Government of Canada tenders that are subject to trade
    agreements or subject to departmental policies that require
    public advertising of tenders.

    Elevator Upgrade,  Sydney Arts Building, Sydney, Nova Scotia
    
    The Department of Public Works and Government Services Canada
    has a requirement for the provision of all necessary labour and
    material, including overtime required to meet the project
    schedule, to do elevator upgrades.  Provide all work required
    for a completed projected, accepted by the Authority having
    jurisdiction.
    
    Site of Work is at: Sydney Arts Building, 198 George St.,
    Sydney, Nova Scotia
    
    The estimate for this opportunity is within the following cost
    category:  $250,001 - $500,000.
    
    Only bids from contractors whose name is on the List of
    Pre-qualified Elevating Devices Maintenance Contractors will be
    considered.  Contractors must be named on the List for the
    province or territory where the work is performed and for the
    type of equipment listed in this solicitation.
    
    Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) may issue a
    Letter of Interest (LOI) on the Government Electronic Tendering
    Service once a year to invite contractors to pre-qualify against
    one or more categories of equipment in the specified geographic
    areas. Contractors who are successful are added to the List of
    Pre-Qualified Elevating Devices Maintenance Contractors and are
    eligible to bid on future solicitations for Elevating Devices
    Maintenance Contracts. A contractor whose name is not on the
    List of Pre-Qualified Elevating Devices Maintenance Contractors
    or wishes to be pre-qualify on other categories of
    equipment/regions may apply by fax at (819) 956-3160 to the
    attention of Regional Operations Support and Commodity
    Management Division, Real Property Contracting Directorate.
    
    
    It is recommended that the bidder or representative of the
    bidder visit the work site and inspect examine the site and its
    surroundings and satisfy themselves as to the form and nature of
    the work and materials necessary for the completion of the work,
    the means of access to the site, the accommodation they may
    require, and in general shall themselves obtain all necessary
    information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances
    which may influence or affect their tender.  No allowance shall
    be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or
    negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that
    will apply.  Arrangements for a tour of the site on August 28 at
    10:00 can be made with Robert Surette (902) 496-5332.  Bidders
    that do not visit are not precluded from submitting a bid.

    Completion of the work is 36 weeks from award.
    
    All work is to be performed in accordance with the plans and
    specifications for PWGSC Project Number R.058300.001 forming
    part of the bid document.
    
    Standard bid and contract security for construction is required.
    
    Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain
    tender documents through the Government Electronic Tendering
    Service.  Addenda, when issued, will be available from GETS. 
    Firms that elect to base their bids on tender documents obtained
    from other sources do so at their own risk and will be solely
    responsible to inform the tender calling authority of their
    intention to bid.  
    
    Standard terms and conditions for this procurement are
    incorporated by reference, and form part of the tender and
    contract documents.  The standard documents are issued by Public
    Works and Government Services and may be viewed on the GETS
    electronic bulletin board as part of the information module.

    Under the Code of Conduct and Certification provisions, (refer
    to G101 of R2710), Bidders must submit the following as part of
    their bid:

    directors of the Bidder

    Tenders shall be received at the office designated for the
    receipt of tenders, on or before the date
    and time set for tender closing.  Late tenders will be returned
    unopened.
    
    (a)	Bids must be complete and submitted on prescribed tender
    form;
    (b)	Include the  tender call number/project number and
    description of proposed work;
    (c)	Include the closing date and time;
    (d)	Must be received prior to bid closing time and at the
