Trade Agreement: Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Attachment: YES (MERX) Electronic Competitive Procurement Strategy: Lowest/Lower Bid Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: EA003-151688/A Woodman, Alexis Telephone No. - (709) 772-2980 Fax No. - (709) 772-4603 Elevator Upgrade, Sir Humphrey Gilbert Building, St. John's, NL Public Works and Government Services Canada has a requirement for all labour and material, including overtime required to meet the project schedule, to modernize two (2) traction elevators and one (1) traction freight elevator including permanent magnet overhead traction machines and all other related work as detailed in the specification. Work to be completed at the Sir Humphrey Gilbert Building, 165 Ductworth Street, St. John's, NL. Only bids from contractors whose name is on the List of Pre-Qualified Elevator Maintenance Contractors for the following categories of equipment: Electric Elevators, for the province of Newfoundland and Labrador will be considered for this solicitation. A contractor whose name is not on the List of Pre-qualified Elevating Devices Maintenance Contractors may apply for pre-qualification. Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC) will publish a Letter of Interest (LOI) on the Government Electronic Tendering Service once a year to invite contractors to pre-qualify against one or more categories of equipment in the specified geographic areas. It takes approximately three months from the time the LOI is published to complete the pre-qualification process. Contractors who are successful will be added to the List of Pre Qualified Elevating Devices Maintenance Contractors and will be eligible to bid on future solicitations for Elevating Devices Maintenance Contracts. All enquiries concerning the pre qualification process must be sent by fax to (819) 956-3160 and addressed to PWGSC, Regional Operations Support and Commodity Management Division, Real Property Contracting Directorate SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: 1. There will be a scheduled site visit, please refer to the solicitation document for the date and time. It is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, the means to access the site, and in general obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances prior to submitting bid. 2. Bidders must refer to Section 01 35 30 - Health and Safety Requirements of specification before performing any site inspection or preliminary work at site. Bidders must refer to GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS (GI) - R5110T (2014-09-25) for the Code of Conduct and Certification provisions applicable to this requirement.
