This project consists of base-building exterior envelope remediation for the Parry Sound Canadian Coast Guard Base.  The scope of work is split into two packages: Package 1 covers the main Administrative Building. Package 2 covers several other buildings on the site, including small ancillary buildings, which support the ongoing operations of the Canadian Coast Guard.

The site is industrial in scale, and the hardwearing material finishes reflect the site’s use as a Federal rescue facility. The functional structures are primarily constructed of concrete block, steel beams and metal siding. The nature of the work is for maintenance and primarily consists of paint removal and repainting all exterior surfaces of the buildings, including related scopes of works such as caulking, weatherstripping etc. and also some minor repairs.

Included within the scope of work is the paint removal and repainting of doors, windows, siding and flashing to match existing colours, caulking of frames and glazing, and some minor repair of exterior elements across the site. All work is to be completed while the building is occupied and operational, in coordination DFO Site Representative, and while ensuring protection of existing fixtures, equipment and general surroundings within the site.

OPTIONAL SITE VISIT

1.There will be a site visit on Wednesday May 26, 2021 at 9:30am. Interested bidders are to meet at 28 Waubeek St., Parry Sound ON. Bidders are required to register for the site visit by Tuesday May 25, 2021 at 10:00am. Bidders must email the Contracting Officer Ambreen Dhillon at ambreen.dhillon@pwgsc.gc.ca.
 
 
2.Safety Attire: In order to be guaranteed access to the site all persons should have the proper personal protection equipment (safety glasses, footwear, vests and hard hats etc.). Contractor`s personnel/individuals who do not have the proper safety attire may be denied access to the site.

3.COVID-19 Protocols for Site Visit:
a. Only two bidders from each company permitted, to a maximum of 10 people including PSPC or other representatives.
b. Wear a Non-medical masks/face covering at all times while outside of vehicle.
c. Maintain 2m social distancing at all time.
d. Observe proper hand hygiene while on site. Sanitize hands before entering the building and after exiting. Attendees should bring their own hand sanitizer.
e. Attendance will be taken by Bidders announcing their name and Departmental Representative recording (no list passed around).
f. Bidder self-screening and declaration that not ill is required at arrival (see attachment).
g. Avoid social greetings (e.g. shaking hands). 
h. Temperatures will be taken at the gate.
