    Work Description:
    The work described in this section shall include the supply of
    materials, equipment, tools, services, labour and all things
    necessary for the completion of the Port Edward Harbour -
    Building 1003 repairs.
    
    The work to be carried out under this contract generally
    consists of, but is not limited to the following items: 1.
    Mobilization/Demobilization, 2. Supply and install new corbel
    (repair type R1), 3. Supply and install new reinforced concrete
    footing, anchored to bedrock (repair type R2), 4. Repair
    existing reinforced concrete footing (repair type R2A), 5.
    Supply and install new bedrock anchored, reinforced concrete
    footing and new stand up timber pile (repair type R3), 6. Supply
    and install new pile and concrete splice connection with
    existing pile (repair type R4), 7. Replace 2400 mm +/- section
    of 300 x 300 mm creosote treated pile cap, 8. Supply and install
    new creosote treated stringers (3657 mm x 75 mm x 250mm+/- ), 9.
    Repair open bolt hole in pile.
    
    Delivery Date:
    The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
    of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to
    be completed by January 1st 2014.
    
    MANDATORY Site Visit:
    It is mandatory that the bidder or a representative of the
    bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for a
    tour of the work site to be held on August 9, 2013 at 9:00 a.m.
    until approximately 11:00 a.m. Bidders must communicate with the
    Contracting Officer before the scheduled visit to confirm
    attendance and provide the names of the person(s) who will
    attend. Bidders will be required to sign an attendance sheet. 
    Bidders who do not attend or send a representative will not be
    given an alternative site visit and their bids will be rejected
    as non-compliant. 
    
    It is mandatory that all persons attending the site visit have
    the proper safety footwear (CSA approved green patch). Hard
    hats, safety glasses and personal flotation devices are also
    required. Contractor personnel/individuals who do not have the
    proper safety attire will be denied access to the site.

    Value of Project:
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
    is estimated to cost between 
    $325,000.00 - $350,000.00.
    
    Firms intending to submit tenders on this project should obtain

    Addenda, when issued will be available from GETS - Buy and Sell.
     Firms that elect to base their bids on tender (solicitation)
    documents obtained from other sources do so at their own risk
    and will be solely responsible to inform the tender calling
    authority of their intention to bid.  In all cases, bidders must
    indicate (when requested) in the space provided on the tender
    form the identification number (s) of the addenda, if any, that
    they have taken into consideration for their bid.

    public in English.
