    Note to Tenderers:
    Drawings and Specifications are now available for viewing and
    downloading in a Portable Document Format (PDF) or in a standard
    paper version. Tenderers should note that Attachments contains
    the Drawings and Specifications Package (DSP) which consists of
    PDF files organized in an industry recognized directory
    structure.
    
    Work Description:
    Work to be done under this Contract consists of:
    1.) Removal of five (5) existing fire hydrants and capping of
    the watermains where the hydrants connect.
    2.) Replacement of eleven (11) existing hydrants with Mueller
    Super Centurion 250 or alternative approved by PWGSC.
    3.) Upgrade and repair the chlorination system in the Airport
    pump house to provide reliable and automatic chlorination of
    potable water.
    4.) Extend the alarm and notification capability of the pump
    controller to incluide the chlorination system.
    5.) Drain and clean the reservoir and maintain / repair the
    reservoir fill valve.
    6.) Supply all required close-out submittals including detailed
    operations and maintenance manuals and mark-up as-built drawings
    that detail all currently installed water-works and the works
    completed under this tender work.
    
    Work will be performed in accordance with the contract schedules
    within the scope of work. 
    
    Site Visit:
    Contractors are recommended to visit the site prior to
    submitting a tender for this work and to make inquiries or
    investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
    the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.  A site
    visit is scheduled on Tuesday, January 7th, 2014 at 1:00pm local
    time, at Transport Canada Airport Facility located at 3675 Byng
    Road, Port Hardy, BC.  A maximum of two (2) representatives per
    bidder will be permitted to examine the sites.  Contractors
    attending the site visit are required to show one (1) piece of
    government issued ID, such as a Drivers License.
    
    
    Delivery Date:
    The work shall commence immediately upon official notification
    of acceptance of tender by the Contracting Authority and is to
    be completed within eight (8) weeks from Contract Award.

    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements this project
    is estimated to cost around 
    $100,000.00.
