    Description:
    The work under this contract comprises of the supply of
    qualified technicians, tools, labour, supervision, materials,
    equipment, and transportation for the inspection, servicing,
    repairs and testing of all elevators, dumbwaiters and handicap
    lifts for the Department of National Defence located at CFB
    Esquimalt for three years with two one year options. The
    contractor will ensure elevating devices are maintained in safe,
    sound reliable operating condition. The contractor will also
    provide an emergency call out service, 24 hours per day, 7 days
    per week. 
    
    Mandatory Requirements:
    Solicitation of tenders for the maintenance of elevating devices
    is limited to those contractors who have successfully passed the
    pre-qualification process and whose names appear on the List of
    Pre-qualified Elevating Devices Maintenance Contractors. A
    contractor whose name is not on the list may apply for
    pre-qualification, but its tender shall be considered only if
    there is sufficient time to complete the pre-qualification
    procedure and if it passes the process successfully.  If time to
    complete the pre-qualification procedure is insufficient, the
    application for pre-qualification shall still be considered and,
    if successful, such contractor may submit a tender at the time
    that a future solicitation is made to tender for Elevating
    Devices Maintenance. Tenders from Tenderers whose names are not
    on the List of Pre-qualified Elevating Devices Maintenance
    Contractors shall not be considered and shall be returned
    unopened.

    Site Visit:
    It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the
    Bidder visit the work site.  Arrangements have been made for a
    tour of the work site. The site visit will be held on October
    17, 2013, at 1:00 pm. Interested bidders are to meet at the Main
    Gate of the Naden Commissionaires Building. 
    
    Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting
    Authority two days before the scheduled visit to confirm
    attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will
    attend.  Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance form.
    Bidders who do not attend or send a representative will not be
    given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded
    from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid
    solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as
    an amendment to the bid solicitation.
