    Title:  Road, Culvert and Bridge Works 
    
    Location: Pacific Rim National Park, Vancouver Island, BC
    
    Work Description: 
    The project is located near Highway 4, in Pacific Rim National
    Park Reserve, British Columbia. It consists of four areas. Swim
    Beach Road, Wick Road, Grice Bay Road and Radar Hill Road. 
    
    In general, Work under this Contract covers the:
    Removal and disposal of existing culverts
    Installation of new culverts and headwalls. 
    Ditching and stream reinstatement.
    Installation of riprap and spawning gravel.
    Backfilling, re-establishment of roadways, and embankment slopes
    disturbed by the work.
    Repair and restoration of deteriorated roadways and parking lot.
    Upgrading/lowering of drainage ditch.
    Driving steel piles.
    For continuous traffic flow at Wick Road, installation of a
    temporary bridge over the crossing prior to culvert replacement
    and removal of the temporary bridge after construction is
    complete.
    Removal and disposal of existing CSP culvert and restore the
    natural stream bed under the open bottom structure (bridge).
    Remove the alders near the abutment and bridge.
    Installation of precast concrete twin cell box Girder Bridge to
    replace the existing CSP pipe culvert.
    Installation of riprap around the abutments.
    Installation of precast standard concrete bridge parapet and
    transition barriers and roadside barriers.
    Embankment fill and widen the road at both ends of the
    abutments. 
    Relocate the hydro-poles and existing waterline. 
    Upgrade the vertical alignment of the road of about 400m at both
    sides of the abutments without paving work. Paving work shall be
    done in the spring 2016. 
    Installation of precast concrete roadside barriers and
    associated embankment fill to accommodate new barriers. 
    Backfilling, re-establishment of roadways, and embankment slopes
    disturbed by the work. 
    Construction of a rock weir just upstream of the bridge and a
    spawning platform to maintain the pool feature.
    
    Site Visit: 
    Contractors are strongly recommended to visit the site prior to
    submitting a tender for this work and to make enquiries or
    investigations necessary to become thoroughly acquainted with
    the site as well as the nature and extent of the work.
    
    The areas of work are open to the public, except for Radar Hill

    Delivery Date: 
    The Contractor shall perform and substantially complete the Work
    within twenty-four [24] weeks from the date of notification of
    acceptance of the offer.

    Value of Project: 
    To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project
    is estimated to cost between 
    $7,000,000 and $7,200,000.
