Public tender openings will be suspended until further notice. Following solicitation closing, bid results will be recorded and may be obtained by e-mailing a request to the address indicated in the Invitation to Tender. Please monitor Buyandsell.gc.ca closely as changes to bid closing dates may be necessary. Please note that GI08 (Bid Security Requirements) and GI09 (Submission of Bid) of R2710T have been modified to include submission of bids electronically. Please consult SI06 Submission of bid in the invitation to tender document for full details. SI05 Bid Security Requirements. A scanned copy of a bond does not constitute a digital bond. Submitting copies (non-original, non-verifiable or scanned copy) of signed and sealed bid bond are not acceptable. Non-compliant bids will be given no further consideration. Please consult SI05 Bid Security Requirements in the invitation to tender document for full details. Work Description: Work under the Contract covers the following general summary of work: - Removal and temporary storage (if reusable) of surface infrastructure, consisting of but not limited to wood/chain link fencing, wooden deck, concrete pathways/sidewalks, stairs, heat pumps, asphalt, hot tub, other general back yard material; - Removal and disposal of the 26 underground storage tanks (USTs) at 25 separate residential housing units (RHUs) as listed on the Unit Price Table. All USTs are to be made unusable prior to disposal. To be done in a manner that satisfies any applicable regulations for the removal and disposal of tanks, including the Storage Tank Systems for Petroleum Products and Allied Petroleum Products Regulations (SOR/2008-197); -Removal of the USTs are completed in four separate packages of six RHUs (Package 1 and 2); five RHUs (Package 3) and eight RHUs (Package 4) as shown on Drawings 661381-101a and 101b. Note, following the completion of Package 1, the removal of USTs at individual RHUs may be completed; -Excavation and stockpiling of soil from each UST location for characterization; -Assist in the collection of confirmatory wall and floor samples at each UST; -Excavation of accessible petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil in the vicinity of each UST to a maximum of 20 m3 per RHU and an average of 10 m3 per RHU. Excavation size at each individual RHU can exceed 20 m3 following approval from Departmental Representative; -Placement of temporary fence surrounding the excavations; -Backfilling of the excavation; and, -Surface restoration to conditions equal to what was present prior to UST removal. Optional Bidder’s Conference: As part of the tender process, an optional online video meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:30am PDST. We encourage all bidders to attend this online video meeting. The details for logging in to this meeting will be made available to all bidders who express an interest in attending by contacting the Contracting Authority before 3:00 pm PDST on Monday, September 27, 2021. Delivery Date: The Contractor shall perform and complete the base work by 23 December 2021 and optional work, if exercised, shall be completed by November 15, 2022. Value of Project: To assist with insurance and bonding requirements, this project is estimated to cost between $100,001 to $500,000.
