    Construction management services as part of the execution of work relating to the major redevelopment of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the development of the CIC Call Centre (Unfunded optional Work).

    OVERVIEW
    
    The federal building at 715 Peel was erected in the years 1935/1937 for the specific purpose of Hotel Post, a postal sorting center. The building was expanded in 1949/1953. The building has seven (7) levels,two (2) partially dedicated to parking and two (2) basement levels.
    The building is equipped with specialized systems to meet specific operational needs of the occupants.
    
    Current situation
    
    Several federal departments are housed in the federal building at 715 Peel, including Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Agency for the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).
    The CIC Call Centre which is currently housed at Place Bonaventure 715 must be relocated to Peel.
    
    The existing premisesno longer meet the security and operational needs of each client. Major redevelopment projects and the development  of  the Call Center  therefore, also aims to deliver spaces that meet the updated requirements of customers, in accordance with the management standards of the workplace 2.0 PWGSC.
    
    
    This RFP includes the redevelopment of CIC and CBSA and the CIC call center. However the CIC call center work is optional. Please refer to the SC-08- Optional Services section for the option exercise process.
    
    
    BIDDER’S MANDATORY CONFERENCES AND VISITS
    
    It is MANDATORY that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder attends at least one of the two Bidder’s conferences and visits of the work site, which will be held on the following dates and time:
    
    Conference and visit, session 1 - January 8th, 2015, at 13:30;
    Conference and visit, session 2 - January 20th, 2015, at 13:30.

    CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION FOR BIDDING
    
    In order to prepare a bid in response to the bid solicitation, bidders must obtain documents from the Contracting Authority. Bidders who do not obtain these documents during the period of RFP will see their BID DECLARED NON-RESPONSIVE.

    ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COSTS
    
    The estimated value of construction costs are as follow: (plus applicable taxes). 
    - Major redevelopment (CIC): $8,375 000
    - Major redevelopment (CBSA): $9,145 000
    - Call Centre (CIC): $3,335 000
    
    
    CONTRACT PERIOD
    
    The contract is effective from its award date until September 28, 2018 (Final acceptance date).
    Regarding the period of work, please refer to paragraph "PD 2.5 - Schedule“.
