    (a)	Title
    Development, modifications and tests with laser sources
    
    
    (b) 	Tasks 
    The main objectives of these works are:
    a)	Optical design for laser sources used for counter-measure
    applications and laser target designation;
    b)	Modify current laser sources for applications; and
    c)	Test laser sources in safe and controlled environment.
    
    DRDC Valcartier conducts R&D works on counter-measures (CM)
    laser. Until now, various laser sources have been developed,
    modified and tested at DRDC Valcartier for CM applications.
    These various laser sources are based on different technologies
    covering the fibre lasers, TeraWatt lasers, parametric
    oscillators, etc. To keep up to date our R&D capabilities in
    laser fields and to provide the best protection for Canadian
    Forces platforms, it is imperative to maintain active this
    research area.
    
    (c)	Client department:
    The organization for which the services are to be rendered is
    Defence Research and Development Canada - Valcartier (DRDC -
    Valcartier).
    
    (d)	Period of the Contract:
    The period of the contract is from the date of the contract to
    March 31, 2019 inclusive. 
    
    (e)	Key information
    
    i.	Defence Research and Development Canada - Valcartier has
    determined that any intellectual property rights arising from
    the performance of the Work under the resulting contract will
    belong to Canada.
    
    ii.	Bidders must provide a list of names, or other related
    information as needed, pursuant to section 01 of Standard
    Instructions 2003.
    
    iii.	For services requirements, Bidders must provide the
    required information, as detailed in article 3 of Part 2 of the
    bid solicitation, to comply with Treasury Board policies and
    directives on contracts awarded to Former Public Servant. 
    
    iv.	The requirement is limited to Canadian services.
    
    v.	Work site: Tasks 1.2, 2.3 and 2.4 must be done on DRDC
    Valcartier site. Others tasks of this contract can be done at
    the address of the contractor.
    
    vi.	The requirement is subject to the Agreement on Internal
    Trade (AIT). 
    
    vii.	There is a security requirement associated with this
    requirement.  For additional information, consult Part 6 -
    Security, Financial and Other Requirements, and Part 7 -
    Resulting Contract Clauses.  Bidders should consult the

    viii.	This procurement is subject to the Controlled Goods

    3.	Debriefings
    
    Bidders may request a debriefing on the results of the bid
    solicitation process. Bidders should make the request to the
    Contracting Authority within 15 working days of receipt of the
    results of the bid solicitation process. The debriefing may be
    in writing, by telephone or in person.
