Trade Agreement: Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Attachment: None Competitive Procurement Strategy: N/A - P&A/LOI Only Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: LETTER OF INTEREST (LOI) RF BI-DIRECTIONAL AMPLIFIER (BDA) The objective of this Letter of Interest (LOI) is to solicit industry participation regarding RF Bi-directional Amplifiers (BDA's). The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Mobile Communciations requests Industry to provide information on their current BDA capabilities and demonstrate how it meets the Technical Requirements stated below in Paragraph 1. 1. Technical Requirements (TR's) 1.1 The RCMP is seeking responses from Industry that address the technical requirements (TR's) stated below. The TR's include only mandatory requirements. Vendors are requested to indicate which TR's they can meet, and demonstrate the capability of their systems with production information, product data sheets, product reports, etc. Vendors are also requested to provide comments on TR's that are unclear or unrealistic. 1.1.1 VHF range shall be at least 132-174 MHz. 1.1.2 UHF range shall be at least 406-512 MHz. 1.1.3 BDA shall have frequency 700 and 800 MHz. 1.1.4 Product shall be Industry Canada approved. 1.1.5 Product shall have gain control. 1.1.6 Single channel BDA. 1.1.7 BDA shall have Multi-channel for trunking systems. 1.1.8 BDA shall have filtering. 1.1.9 BDA shall have secure housing. 1.1.10 BDA shall run on AC and/or DC power 1.1.11 BDA shall have couplers and splitters. 1.1.12 The BDA application shall be for public safety department radio communications systems where the bandwidth is between 12.5 KHz and 30 KHz. 2. NOTE TO INTERESTED VENDORS 2.1 While it is anticipated to award a standing offer of five years, the issuance of this LOI does not create an obligation for Canada to issue a subsequent RFSO, and does not bind Canada legally or otherwise, to enter into any agreement or to accept or reject any suggestions. 2.2 Requirements are subject to change, based on the creation of the Statement of Work (SOW), which could include information provided in response to this LOI. Respondents are advised that any information submitted to Canada in response to this LOI may, or may not be used by Canada in the development of a subsequent competitive RFSO. 2.3 Respondents to this LOI should identify any submitted information that is to be considered as either company confidential or proprietary. 3. INQUIRIES 3.1 All inquiries and other communications related to this LOI shall be directed exclusively to the PWGSC Contract Authority. 4. FORMAT OF RESPONSES 4.1 Vendors are requested to submit 1 hard copy and 1 electronic copy using Standard Microsoft Office Suite software or pdf format. 5. CLOSING DATE 5.1 Responses to this LOI should be submitted directly to the PWGSC Contract Authority on or before close of business 24 May 2012. 6.
