Trade Agreement: NAFTA/AIT/Canada FTAs with Peru/Colombia/Panama Tendering Procedures: All interested suppliers may submit a bid Competitive Procurement Strategy: Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement: No Nature of Requirements: THIS AMENDS THE CLOSING DATE OF THE NOTICE OF PROPOSED PROCUREMENT (NPP) FROM 16 NOVEMBER 2015 TO 19 NOVEMBER 2015 AT 2:00 PM. Background The Scientific Authority is the Environment Canada (EC) lead for paleolimnological studies pollutants in lake sediments in the oil sands re gion under the Canada-Alberta Joint Oil Sands Monitoring program (JOSMP). Atmospheric deposition has been identified as a potentially important route for delivery of polycyclic aromatic compounds (PACs) and heavy metals from oil sands upgraders and mining sites to aquatic and terrestrial environments in the region (Kelly et al. 2009;2010; Kurek et al.2013; Kirk et al 2014). The impacts on fish and invertebrates in aquatic systems in the region are not well studied according to recent independent assessments undertaken by the Royal Society of Canada and by an independent advisory committee to the Minister of Environment. The purpose of this contract is to have a qualified laboratory to conduct specified paleolimnological analyses and interpretation on sediment cores collected in March 2014 and in March 2015 under the Joint Oil Sands Monitoring plan in order to contribute to reporting of work conducted under JOSMP. Deliverables January 31, 2016. The contractor will provide a preliminary report on fossil invertebrate relative abundances, CP and VNIRS (chlorophyll a an d DOC) results from 4 cores in a series of Excel files. The contractor will submit an invoice for partial payment based on satisfactory progress. March 31, 2016. Final report on fossil invertebrate relative ab undances, CP and VNIRS.
