Laser Flash Thermal Diffusivity Measurement Instrument Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), CanmetMATERIALS (CANMET-MTL), Hamilton, ON, requires a laser flash thermal diffusivity measurement instrument including: installation, commissioning, training, manuals and drawings and service to support the research and development of a variety of projects. This instrument determines the thermal diffusivity of a material by measuring the temperature of the sample in response to a laser pulse. The projects supported by this instrument include novel materials for heat exchanger to thermoelectric materials. The object of this equipment is to provide researchers with an essential tool to support the research and development of heat exchanger and thermoelectric materials in determining the thermal diffusivity and specific heat of these materials from room temperature to 1100 degrees Celsius ( C). All the deliverables must be received within 12 weeks from Contract award. The period of the Contract is from date of Contract to two years from Site Acceptance Test approval. Please refer to the Request for Proposal for the detailed technical requirements. Optional Site Visit It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for a tour of the work site. The site visit will be held on 12 June 2013, at 10:00 AM,Natural Resources Canada, CANMETMaterials, 183 Longwood Road South Hamilton, ON L8P 0A5. Bidders are requested to communicate with the Contracting Authority 5 days before the scheduled visit to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend. Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance form. Bidders who do not attend or send a representative will not be given an alternative appointment but they will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.
