STEEL CONTAINERS

The Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement for
the supply and delivery of quantity 21 Steel Containers for
delivery at various locations across Ontario.

The delivery date is March 31, 2012. 

Each Steel Container must meet the following specifications: 

8 x lengths of 1.5" x 1.5" x 114"' steel square tubing 1/8" wall
thickness (Side Beams)

4 x lengths of 1.5" x 1.5" x 58" steel square tubing 1/8" wall
thickness (end beams)

8 x lengths of 1.5" x 1.5" x 34" steel square tubing 1/8" wall
thickness (support Beams 

6 x lengths of 1" x 1" x 58" steel square tubing 1/8" wall
thickness

4 x 4' x 4' sheets of sheet metal 1/16" thickness (Shelves
crimped 1" on 1 end for weld to end of frame and weld every 6
inches to top of frame). 

2 Doors 52" L x 36" W sheets of sheet metal 1/16" thickness X
Stiffened

1 x 12" x 36" piece of sheet metal 1/16" thickness Vertical
Shelf (Crimped ½ inch at top) to weld to top of shelf

1 X 36" of 1" x 1" steet angle 1/8" thickness (supports shelf
above at bottom)

4 x Lengths of 1" knuckle 2" OW x 72" long .060 guage .187 pin
diameter hinge

4 Latch assemblies per cradle adjustable tension

4 x Lengths of 1" Knuckle 2" OW x 72" long .060 guage .187 pin
diameter hinge

1 Gallon of Primer / Paint Black

8 Support Brackets 3" x 3" flat steel bar ¼" thick for stacking

The Crown retains the right to negotiate with suppliers on any
procurement.
