AIT Apply 4. JUSTIFICATION FOR THE PRE-IDENTIFIED SUPPLIER The Aeryon SkyRanger is the only UAV on the market that meets or exceed the mandatory requirements. The Aeryon SkyRanger is the only UAV on the market that is capable of flying in high winds with gusts. It is imperative that a UAV that supports emergency operations be able to operate in the type of weather normally experienced throughout the year on the coast of BC. Being able to use the UAV during inclement weather is mandatory in case of emergency and search and rescue operations. The SkyRanger is specifically rated for marine environments which is a requirement for operations in BC. ERT operations has indicated that a high level of optical zoom is required for UAV's supporting ERT in Critical Incidents. This allows the UAV to remain at sufficient distance from the target to avoid agitating the subject or alerting them to the presence of the UAV and preserves the element of surprise when preparing to enter a premises. The Aeryon SkyRanger' high Zoom with a 3 axis gimbal is a very important factor in collecting usable video. The Aeryon SkyRanger is the only one that can support ERT to the degree required based on the camera zoom capability, camera stabilization, dual streaming FLIR/Visual data, flight programming capabilities, wind performance, operational temperature range, and the training available in Canada at their facility. 5. EXCLUSIONS AND/OR LIMITED TENDERING REASONS The following exclusions and limited tendering reason is invoked under the: - Agreement on Internal Trade (AIT) - Article(s) 506, paragraph 12b 6.
