Optional Goods and/or Services In the event that funds become available, the Contractor will grant to Canada the irrevocable option to acquire an additional one (1) identical boat and trailer as described at Annex A of the Contract under the same conditions of the Contract and at a negotiated price based on the prices stated in Appendix 1 to Annex B of the Contract. The option may only be exercised by the Contracting Authority and will be evidenced, for administrative purposes only, through a contract amendment. MISSION Mission Statement The R.C.M.P. performs operational functions in semi-isolated Detachments within the North West Region. Many of these areas have small lakes and adjoining river systems. The requirement is for a Bow Rider (Step deck) Launch in the 4.75 - 5.3 meter range. The vessel will be deployed to various functions and will be configured to meet the duty function of the vessel. Utilization This boat will be used for Enforcement, patrolling transporting Police Personal between Detachments, Search and Rescue and investigative functions. This involves operations in various river conditions including extensive work in shallow braided channels and fast flowing rapids. The boat is required to be capable of operating in up to class III Swiftwater (International River Rating) and in shallow draft (i.e. less that 6"). The boat will be trailered occasionally over short distances both on paved roads as well as secondary and gravel roads and will be launched in areas without docks or proper launching facilities. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS 1. Length (hull) must be approx. 5.3m and must not exceed 17.4 ft excluding jet and protective grid. 2. Hull bottom to be 5.5 ft to a max 6 ft beam and of 6.9 ft to max. of 7.6 ft at sheer 3. Minimum hull depth: 30 inches 4. A full width swim grid is required, its minimum length to cover the jet equipment and incorporate jet drive unit protection. 5. Hull to have a dead rise of approximately 10 -14 degrees. 6. Normal Load conditions: (Light vessel is complete vessel; no fuel, load, or personnel) Crew of 3 = 300 Kg Fuel = 220 litres in one tank, (180 kg) Equipment & supplies = 200 kg CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS 1. Transport Canada Marine Safety Regulation TP 1332 "Construction Standards for Small Vessels", which incorporate references to ABYC standards for equipment such as fuel tanks and fuel systems, as well as tank space ventilation, and ISO standards for stability, loading capacity, etc. as delegated to ISO 12217.
