An Advance Contract Award Notice (ACAN) is a public notice indicating to the supplier community that a department or agency intends to award a contract for goods, services or construction to a pre-identified supplier, thereby allowing other suppliers to signal their interest in bidding, by submitting a statement of capabilities. If no supplier submits a statement of capabilities that meets the requirements set out in the ACAN, on or before the closing date stated in the ACAN, the contracting officer may then proceed with the award to the pre-identified supplier. The Public Health Agency of Canada has a requirement for the supply and delivery of one (1) new NSF/ANSI 49 Listed, Class II Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinet designed for Small Animal Handling in a Containment Level (CL) 3 animal suite. The equipment must be a NuAire LabGard ES Class II Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinet (Model No. NU-677) or equivalent, that is NSF/ANSI 49 Listed with a minimum sash height opening of 12 inches, and a cabinet that is six feet wide. There will be an option to purchase up to 2 additional units three years after contract award.
