Description
Biodiversity-Health Research Project Management Services. The Ărramăt project is a six (6) year multi-million dollar initiative hosted at the University of Alberta (Universtiy). Between the years of 2022 to 2027, more than 100 partners will work together towards strengthening the capacity of Indigenous governments and organizations to lead research and mobilize knowledge about the interconnections between biodiversity and Indigenous health and well-being. The Ărramăt Project Funding ($24M) was awarded in the fall of 2021.
The Department of Resource Economics & Environmental Sociology at the University is inviting firms with sufficient capacity and demonstrated experience to provide a suite of Biodiversity-Health Research Project Management Services in support of the Ărramăt Project. Specifically, the services will be required to meet the following project objectives:
• Strengths-Based Approach: build the capacity of Indigenous organizations to document, share, and use their knowledge about the interconnections between biodiversity conservation and health and well-being;
• Place-Based Research: support Community-Based Participatory Research (Indigenous-led research projects) that evidence the health and well-being outcomes of biodiversity conservation;
• Indigenous Leadership: support Indigenous leaders in driving institutional change at local, regional, and global scales to improve health and well-being, and curb the decline of biodiversity;
